September Fishing Report

As the season comes to an end, the Lake Ontario fishing charters are winding down for the fleet. I would like to thank each and every person that came out and spent time with us. It means a lot that you choose BP Adventures and I hope to see everyone next year!

September proved to be a very productive month. With the weather patterns this year the fish were late to stage and we were able to take advantage of that. Some days were tougher than others but that is to be expected. Thank you to everyone that came out for the late season and made it so enjoyable.

It is no surprise to anyone that 2020 is an odd year and the fishing was no different overall. The changing weather and water conditions made for some really tough fishing during what is traditionally the prime time fishing in August and early September. When fishing is that tough you have to pay attention to the details. Leader length, leader weight, flasher size and type, dipsey color, what size dipsey is needed to get to those fish, dipsey leader length, what A-Tom-Mik fly did the fish want that day? Everything comes into play when the fishing is tough and it forced us to pay attention to the details to take advantage of the opportunities we had.

With all that being said there seems to be a reoccurring theme over the last few year’s and that is the quality of fishing in July. The weather seems to be more stable as well as the water conditions. The fish may be a ride from port but those silver kings have been around and catches have been great during July lately. If anyone is interested in booking their 2021 trips to Lake Ontario and take part in this world class fishery do not over look July for king salmon as it has been one of the most productive mobths recently.

We have started booking early spring Brown trout trips so set a date now and get that deposit in so you have time to plan that trip with family or friends! Early season brown trout action is second to none and as we get into May and June those kings just might be willing to cooperate for multi species trips!

Again….i would like to thank everyone that was part of the 2020 season. It means a lot and I am looking forward to what 2021 has to offer! I look forward to hearing from you to help any way I can with booking your 2021 Lake Ontario Adventure!
