August has come to an end and the fishing for the big nasty staging kings is really heating up! The last month had its ups and downs. The weather and unstable water conditions made for some tough fishing on some days on the water. Thank you to all the customers that came out to see us over that period. It is always a pleasure having you on board even though the fishing was not always on fire.
It was busy month for us here at BP Aventures and the Lake Ontario fishing charter fleet. We had the pleasure of serving everything from multi boat trips organized by Ace Charters in Oswego, to bachelor parties to family outings! Every occasion is a great opportunity to take advantage of the world class fishery that Lake Ontario has to offer!
There were some highlights of the month. BP Adventures finished 2nd overall in the A-Tom-Mik Triple Crown for 2020 against some of the best teams on the east end of Lake Ontario! Congratulations to all the clients that took part in a 5th place finish in the A-Tom-Mik Challenge, a 3rd place in the Little Salmon River Shootout and a 9th place in the Fair Haven Challenge!
A-Tom-Mik meat rigs dominated the king salmon bite early in the month. A-Tom-Mik flys behind many combinations of paddles picked up in the second half of the month. We continued to pick up bites on high divers with Stinger spoons but the A-Tom-Mik products took the majority of the shots. We fished over anything from 80 to 400 feet of water depending on where the fish were located.
Thanks again to everyone who we had on board! We hope to see you again next year! It is great to see the younger generation on board so much this year! Please support your local tackle shops for all your A-Tom-Mik needs. Fat Nancy’s in Pulaski was stocked up pretty well as I stopped there this last weekend to stock up for the rest of the season. The season looks like it will be extended this year due to a late run and there are some open spots left if you don’t want to miss out on the 2020 king season!
